The Rainbow Tribunal recognizes the importance of protecting the identity, privacy, dignity, and personal safety of individuals who voluntarily provide information or are summoned to provide testimony. A witness may request to participate anonymously and, where reasonably possible, may attend Rainbow Tribunal virtual meetings, deliberations, interviews, and hearings without displaying their face, disclosing their legal name, or otherwise publicly identifying themselves. The Rainbow Tribunal will take reasonable measures to safeguard confidential witness information and will not intentionally disclose a witness’s identity to the public or unauthorized persons without the witness’s consent, except where disclosure is required by applicable law or is necessary to address a serious and immediate safety or legal concern. Witnesses may use an approved pseudonym or witness identification number where appropriate. The Tribunal may restrict access to identifying information to authorized Tribunal personnel and may use voice alteration, camera-off participation, written testimony, or other reasonable privacy measures when appropriate. By participating as a witness, the individual acknowledges that while the Rainbow Tribunal will make reasonable efforts to protect confidentiality, absolute anonymity or confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, particularly where information is independently known, publicly disclosed by the witness, technically compromised, or subject to a lawful disclosure requirement.
